No more Reliance Jio PokéStops and Gyms in India pokestop nomination beta
Pokémon GO - the number one augmented reality game with more than 900 Million accounts in the world now lost its interest in India by the decision of Jio and Niantic. On December 14, 2016, the Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (“Jio”) officially partnered with Niantic to play Pokémon GO in India. With this, Jio communication agreed to place PokéStops and PokéGyms in more than 3,000 Jio Store all over India. Last couple of years Pokemon trainers in India got much benefited by playing Ex-Raids and collecting items from these Stops.
On December 28, 2018, all the Jio PokéStops and Gyms(Except some Ex-Raid Gyms) are removed. With this decision, many Pokémon GO players are got disappointed because already there were very few PokéStops and Gyms only available in Tire two, Tire three, and rural areas in India.
Why Jio Removed PokéStops and Gyms in India?
During the Pokémon GO launch in India John Hanke, the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Niantic said that “It’s exciting to see Pokémon fans in India step out and explore their neighborhoods in search of Pokémon, and Jio’s disruptive high-speed 4G LTE Network will be an excellent way to experience the game. with this Jio SIM customers will be able to download and play Pokémon GO without incurring data charges, like any other apps and content, till 31st March 2017" also it seems that the two-year contract of placing PokéStops and Gyms in Jio stores also came to the end on December 28, 2018.pokestop nomination beta
Another sad news for the poke trainers in a rural area is, suppose the sponsorship switch over to Starbucks or McDonald's. Then it will be very difficult to find PokéStop in Third tire cites and rural areas because of the lack of outlets.

Hope soon Niantic will take prompt action to restore the PokéStops and Gyms to sustain the essence of the game among the Pokémon GO players in India.
