Samsung Galaxy A80 announced today with a very new feature in any smartphones, Automated rotating camera. Yes, it has automatic rotating three lens camera that can act as both rear and selfie camera.
That means, a bezel-less full view mobile screen and no notch, dewdrop and small dot-like camera as in Galaxy S10 series.
The camera setup consists of a main 48-megapixel f/2.0 camera, flanked by an ultra-wide 8-megapixel f/2.2 camera, and a third ToF (time-of-flight) sensor.
It gives us a relay good 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400) Super AMOLED display. Now we can watch videos and play games with full satisfaction.
Though this kind of slider and rotating mechanism is already seen in older phones, no other smartphones had both like this.
Oppo N1 which was a 2014’s model has a rotating camera but not an automated one. Pop-up cameras with a notch less screen have been seen in many phones like Vivo Nex, Oppo Find X last year. Recently slider camera type phones are introduced in Xiaomi Mix 3 and Honor Magic 2.
Samsung Galaxy A80 comes with a 3700 mAh battery that also supports fast charging at 25W. It has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and undoubtedly with the in-display screen fingerprint sensor.
It will be available in three colors: Gold, White and Black.
Also, this phone is the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 730G processor, which is optimized for mobile gaming.
Today, they also announced the launch date of Galaxy A70, which is releasing on April 26. Galaxy A70 was first introduced with features of teardrop-notched 6.7-inch display, in-display fingerprint sensor, a main 32-megapixel sensor along with a 5-megapixel depth sensor and an ultra-wide 8-megapixel sensor. It will be a mid-range phone available in four colors: coral, blue, black, and white.
Galaxy A80 is launching on May 29th, which is joining the Galaxy A-series family.
Pricing of both Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80 is yet to be announced.
